Education is a common topic discussed in every household, workplace, and church congregation in Alabama. As the son of parents who are educators, I have seen firsthand the dedication and commitment of teachers. Unfortunately, in many instances, educators are not given the necessary tools to be successful, and families are not given a choice in the education of their children. I am a true believer that education opportunities can change the trajectory of a person’s life.

I believe in local control for education. What may work in New York or California will probably not work in Alabama. We don’t need the federal government trying to force one-size-fits-all education policies on Alabama. I oppose the teaching of Critical Race Theory (CRT) in Alabama’s K-12 classrooms. Accordingly, I will fight any attempts to place federal mandates on our schools through the use of federal education grants.
